In the "old days", if a car didn’t run properly it probably wasn’t getting the right amount of gas, spark, or air. It could probably be fixed with a pair of pliers and a piece of wire. Today’s cars are a lot more complicated. Your "check engine" light may go on because your car’s computer senses a problem. If the computer thinks that problem could damage your engine, it may even shut everything down. By hooking your car up to our scanner, we can read the codes, find out what the problem is, and correct it.
